"Cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology is a required course in almost all RC programs, it is normally at the 100 and 200 level although there are advanced courses that are taught more at the 300 level. It is a concentrated study of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology which is essential to the practice of respiratory care. There is a strong emphasis on cardiovascular and pulmonary physiology, acid/base balance, and blood gas interpretation but certainly covers much more than that.
