Jamie, Adam and associates investigate 19th century rocket science to test the stories of the Confederate Army launching a two-stage rocket during the Civil War, test vodka as a cure for foot odor and as a mouthwash, determine if, in a high-speed, head-on collision of two semi-trailer trucks, a small car caught between them would be smashed flat. They test the idea that steel-toe boots can lead to toe amputation and investigate a plastic bottle jet-pack using pressurized water as fuel, non-pharmaceutical treatments for sea-sickness, the effects of plugging up a gun barrel. They compare the fuel efficiency of pickup trucks with the tailgate up or down, construct and test paper crossbows, and evaluate the effectiveness of vodka as a smoke remover, a bee killer, and a bathroom cleaning agent.
